Many people think that you need to go to the beach or stay in an expensive hotel with pool just to complete your summer break. Did you know there’s a lot of outdoor pools in Tokyo that you can visit for as cheap as 200 yen? Plus it is very accessible. No long drives or hotel stays needed. Here are some of our recommended place in Tokyo.

1. Meguro Citizen Center Gymnasium

Price: 200 yen per adult/ 2hours

2. Aqua Field Shiba Koen

5. The New Otani pools
Price: 2,000 to 10,000 yen depends on the day and time of the week.
Prices are lower for those staying in the hotel

Before visiting the any establishments, please check the website or call to check if reservation is required. Also here are some of the Do’s and Dont’s while inside the pool.

Do’s
1.Wear proper swimming attire. Swimcap is mostly required so don’t forget to bring one.
2.Cover your tattoo if you have one. You can either wear rashguards or use a tattoo tape to cover.
3.Check if swim rings are allowed. Some establishment only accepts a certain size limit.
4.Shower first before you swim.

Dont’s
1. No playing or running inside the pool.
2. Do not smoke or eat inside the pool area.
3. Do not bring food outside (for hotel pools).
4. Do not bring any recording device, camera or speaker inside the pool.
5. Applying sunblock (weird as it sounds but some establishments prohibits use of sunscreen as it may contaminate water, check with the staff first)
