JAPANESE LANGUAGE COURSES
Japanese language school courses typically consist of:
Intensive or “preparatory” courses: The purpose of long-term courses is to prepare students to integrate higher education institutes such as Colleges, Vocational Schools, Universities. This course is focused on improving the four language skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. They help students acquire the ability to communicate naturally in Japanese and adjust without any trouble.
Also the courses help the students to prepare for the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) and EJU (Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students). Student should reach JLPT N2 in order to attend higher education in Japan and EJU is required to go to Universities.
General or Basic courses: This is a long-term course for people who are simply interested in Japanese language and culture, students who are not planning to enter higher education but need to master Japanese Language for any of the following purposes:
a. Learning Japanese for their future job/career in their home country
b. Look for a job in Japan
c. Effectively communicate in Japanese business meetings, express ideas and opinions (for Business Executives)
d. Or simply for hobby
Short-term courses: these courses are for students and business people who want to improve their Japanese language skills within the shortest period of time and perhaps during holidays. The course duration is between 1 week to 3 months (it varies from school to school).
Business courses: they are focused on teaching Japanese business language and preparing to enter the Japanese job market. Only a few schools offer these courses. In most cases, it is for people who are already fluent in Japanese (JLPT N2 or N1).
Conversational courses: students learn basic Japanese with the aim to acquire a good level of spoken Japanese, thus enabling them to hold conversations.
Summer courses: short length course for people who want to make the most of their summer time by learning basic Japanese language skills as well as getting an exposure to Japanese culture and customs.
